hi, i'm savannah (last name: sometimes ostrowski, sometimes bailey; both are fine by me). you probably ended up here because of my work in open source. i'm a python core developer, the release manager for python 3.16 and 3.17, and a member of the python steering council for 2026. i work at fastapi labs, building fastapi cloud (aka the best python cloud). i am also proudly canadian, but have been based in beautiful washington state since 2016.
i try to write here when i can, mostly about weird side projects or things i'm thinking about at the moment. outside of open source, i watch a lot of movies, am training for a half marathon later this year, and like being at home with my three cats (nori, miso, and momo).
