About

Hi, I'm Savannah. I'm on the Python Steering Council for 2026, the release manager for Python 3.16 and 3.17, and a CPython core developer who helps where help is needed — the JIT, WASI, argparse, and whatever else needs a hand. I currently work at FastAPI Labs, building FastAPI Cloud (aka the best Python cloud).

I write here mostly about CPython internals — making the parts of the interpreter that look intimidating less so. I also like containers, Kubernetes, self-hosting, and figuring out how things actually run in production. Expect posts about both, plus the occasional homelab story (I used to run my sites off a Raspberry Pi cluster in my closet — this one now lives on FastAPI Cloud).

Outside of code: three cats named after Japanese foods (Nori, Miso, Momo) and more films than I have time for. Canadian, Seattle-based since 2016.

Find me on Bluesky or email me.
